April-May and September-October hit the sweet spot: warm enough to swim, mild enough to hike the Lycian Way, and without the packed August crowds and peak heat that push past 35°C.
Dolmuş minibuses are cheap and run constantly between the town center, Ölüdeniz, Çalış Beach and Kayaköy; just flag them down on their route. For the coves and islands, hop on one of the daily 12-island boat tours from the harbor, and rent a scooter or car if you want to reach the Butterfly Valley boat dock or drive the Ölüdeniz paragliding road yourself.
Skip the crowded main Ölüdeniz beach entry and instead walk down through Belcekız to the far end of the lagoon, or better, take a dolmuş to Kabak Bay for a quieter, cliffside version of the same turquoise water.
